The EEE is the Carnivorous Plant European Exhibition and Exchange. This year it will be taking place at the Botanical Gardens of Lyon in the Parc de la Tête d’Or in Lyon, France from the 18th-20th of September. There will be various conferences and lectures in both French and English, as well as grand exhibitions and carnivorous plant sellers. The garden in which it is taking place in is gorgeous, and I can’t wait to see it. I went to a smaller carnivorous plant company’s open house two years ago, and I have to say it was one of my best CP excursions yet. They were well-stocked, and we ended up getting about 12 plants.* 😉 I can only imagine what the EEE will be like. As a carnivorous plant fanatic, enthusiast, freak, whatever you like, I am excited beyond comprehension to attend this event! If there’s one thing I hope to see there, it’s a good display of Nepenthes. Nepenthes have a fascinating history and I have only seen them in real life once, and it was a very brief visit. So, in conclusion, I am very excited that we will be in Lyon at this time, and I think that it will be one of our best CP encounters on the World trip.
* The name of this smaller company is Sarracenia Northwest. They are the biggest company in the Northwest, but then again, the Northwest isn’t too big with carnivorous plants. Here’s a link to their website: Sarracenia Northwest
